MLS faculty present at American Society of Clinical Pathology 2024 Annual Meeting

Two faculty in the Division of Medical Laboratory Sciences presented at the American Society of Clinical Pathology 2024 Annual Meeting held in Chicago in September.

Director of Clinical Education and Assistant Professor Cordy Kudika, MHA, CHS (ACHI) , attended the conference as vice chair of the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) Laboratory Professional Recruitment Initiative. 

“Part of my role included being an exhibitor along with a few of my ASHI colleagues to promote and educate laboratorians on histocompatibility (organ transplant medicine),” said Kudika. She also presented a poster titled “Addressing HLA Laboratory Vacancy Challenges: Insights from a Survey-Based Analysis.”

Assistant Professor Brittany Teeter, MS, CLS, MLS(ASCP)CM, served as a speaker in two lab safety discussions: Laboratory Environmental Safety and Strengthening Laboratory Safety: Best Practices for Compliance.

ASCP represents pathologists, laboratory professional and related fields and has a global membership of more than 100,000 members across specialties including pathology, hematology, microbiology and molecular diagnostics.
