Conversation with the Dean

Dean Loomer warmly guides viewers through his home.
On April 28, Dean Peter M. Loomer, BSc, DDS, PhD, MRCD(C), FACD, hosted a virtual Conversation with the Dean event from his home in San Antonio. Accompanying him were Amanda Wilson, a rising third-year dental student, and Amanda Liccione, director of development for the School of Dentistry. Remaining behind the camera, Liccione moderated the conversation by asking Dean Loomer questions about the school’s COVID-19 response, its top research ranking, and about the establishment of the Phil & Karen Hunke Special Care Clinic. Amanda Wilson provided a student’s perspective by sharing her experience in the DDS program for the past two years. While the Dean and Wilson answered questions posed by Liccione and those submitted by viewers, the two worked together to make Farmer Pie and Butter Tart Squares, two favorite dishes that remind Dean Loomer of his upbringing in Canada. The event is available for viewing thanks to the Office of Institutional Advancement. Register to watch the recording which begins around the 11:30 timestamp. If you would like to contribute a gift to further the School of Dentistry’s exciting initiatives, please contact Amanda Liccione, director of development for the School of Dentistry, at (210) 567-6536 or by emailing for additional information.
